Asbestos is a hazardous material that can pose health risks when disturbed.
In New South Wales, it is a requirement to complete an Asbestos Materials Report for Commercial, Retail, and Industrial properties that were constructed before 31/12/2003. The discovery of asbestos within your premises can be alarming, however having an experienced Asset Manager by your side to guide you through the process is key! Should asbestos be identified, our RWC Western Sydney Asset Management Team will team up with a licensed asbestos assessor to prepare and implement the following:
The Asbestos Register: We will arrange an inspection that will record all asbestos and ACM identified, or assumed to be present at the premises. This register will detail the location and condition of the asbestos with accompanying photographs.
An Asbestos Management Plan: Once the asbestos register is finalised, it will form an integral part of the Management Plan which we will arrange and prominently display onsite. This will need to be reviewed and updated every 5 years.
Signage and Labels: We will ensure that the appropriate labels are placed at the location where materials have been identified or are assumed to be asbestos.
Disclosure: Our team will manage the process of notifying existing tenants, future tenants and any contractors stepping onto the premises to ensure they are informed.
Trust RWC Western Sydney to guide you through the process, ensuring the safety of your occupants and the integrity of your property. Contact us today for more about our proactive approach to Asset Management!
